It was just October that I left my office job last year. I was thinking about the year. It wasn’t easy, but exciting—but then again, not always exciting. I first had to start out by getting my body and mind in balance. During the year, I had to face a lot of myself. There was a lot of time to think, and that could be very difficult. In a way, when I was busy out of my mind, I was able to run away from many things. But now, there’s nothing to push me around, which means, everything really depends on me.
I feel I am still in the process of recovering, physically and mentally, but then again life is a neverending journey: Take it step by step, and enjoy each and every moment.
It’s about the journey, never the destination
During the year, I’ve met new people, and old—went on the best-ever trips to India, Singapore, Spain and France, started up my career as freelance, and spent a lot of time with my loving family and friends who support me all too well.
My yoga teacher Jeanmarie Paolillo whom I was so fortunate to take training with in New York just came out with a book last month, which reiterates and reinforces the “everything depends on me” that I mentioned above.
“What you percieve, you recieve!” You create your own happiness. Our habitual thoughts, patterns and biases limits our minds to think more freely, more positively! So if we can clear our minds and combat all the “stuff” we can be more intuitive, creative in our lives to create what we want in life!
Yoga is definitely a great way to get to our true selves, and let us become more “free” in this sense.
The most important thing is to enjoy your life – to be happy – it’s all that matters.
